Visually Impaired People (VIP) will have a more accurate understanding of 2D artwork’s composition.
Memorability and subjective enjoyment of 2D artworks will be enhanced for VIP and sighted users.
The ad hoc technology will contribute to the emergence of richer aesthetic impressions irrespective of visual experience.
All the project’s objectives and the main problematics underpinning our approach to the access to artworks by VIP are summarized in the figure next to the text. A non-visual interface (IMG system) will provide access to both, (audio-tactile representation) of artworks and to the museum space (through artworks and VIP location, and VIP tracking based on a map).
